The #1 Reason You Fail To Achieve Your Goals

Do you have a goal you’ve been working on for 6 months or more without success?

Maybe it’s a health goal– you’re trying to exercise more often, cook more nutritious meals at home, lose weight, or reduce your stress.

It could be a career goal– you want to land a new job, get promoted, improve your work-life balance, or earn more respect or responsibility.

Or it could be a personal goal– you want to improve your photography skills, spend less time scrolling on Instagram, read more books, or keep your house clean.

Whatever your goals are, there are specific things you can do to set yourself up for success. I tell my Life Coaching clients that, to make achieving a goal inevitable, you need 3 things:

  1. Knowledge: the right information

  2. Support: a person or community of people to guide and help you

  3. Accountability: someone holding you responsible for following through

So what’s the #1 reason professional women fail to achieve their goals? ⬇️

A lack of accountability.

Many of the professional women I Life Coach have the right knowledge and support. They have the correct information and fantastic people encouraging them, but they’re missing the external accountability piece. They just want to do it on their own, and hold themselves accountable…

What’s the difference between support and accountability? Support is encouragement, guidance, help, or inspiration. Accountability, on the other hand, is being held responsible for following through on taking action. A spouse or friend may be supportive, cheering you on and encouraging you, but not holding you accountable when you start slipping up.

Accountability really matters.

The American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) did a study on accountability and found that you have a 65% chance of completing a goal if you commit to someone. And if you have a specific accountability appointment with a person you've committed to, you will increase your chance of success by up to 95%.

With this statistic, getting external accountability is a no-brainer when it comes to achieving your goals.

Having the right accountability is the most effective way to ensure you achieve your goals. Whatever your goals are - financial, personal, health-related, career, etc. - accountability is the key to success. On a health journey? Hire a nutritionist, personal trainer, or Health Coach. Starting a new business? Hire a Business Coach, consultant, or marketing specialist. These professionals can not only provide guidance and direction, but also hold you accountable, give you tough love when you need it most, and ensure you stay on track and reach your goals.

And if you’re a professional woman ready to show up with confidence and take control of your career, Life Coaching guarantees that you’ll have the right knowledge, support, and accountability to make reaching your goals (in any area of life!) inevitable.

Life Coaching is NOT just about hiring someone to give you some vague help or guidance. It’s NOT the same thing as reading a self-help book. Life Coaching is an approach to your life and your career that will have you feeling powerful, courageous, liberated, and fulfilled, maybe for the first time ever.

Do you want achieving your goals to be inevitable? I invite you to take the first step. To make a decision to prioritize your goals, your joy, your success, and YOURSELF.
