Do More of What Makes You Feel Confident
Do more of what makes you feel confident.
Easier said than done, right?
I hear from many of my life coaching clients that they have felt confident at times in their lives, but are currently lacking confidence in certain areas. For some women, it’s feeling unsure of their work or career situation. For other women, it’s lacking confidence in their health and physical body. And for some, it's just a general feeling of uncertainty about where their life is heading.
When working with me as their life coach, I reiterate: do more of what makes you feel confident.
If you really think about it, there are things in life that make you feel confident. You can pinpoint them if you start racking your brain.
For example:
Getting your sweat on at a spin class
Wearing an outfit that makes you feel amazing
A conversation with the friend who always hypes you up
Wearing red lipstick
Finishing a 5-mile run
Or anything else!
Make a list of ALL of the things in your life that make you feel confident. Come up with a list of at least 15 items. It can be anything— from physical exercise to social activities to self-care routines. What do you already do in your life that gives you a boost of confidence?
Now, name this list of activities your “Confidence Menu.” This is a menu of items you can select from to do something that makes you feel that sense of confidence in yourself.
Every day, make the deliberate choice to do at least 1 of the items on your Confidence Menu. It can be the same thing every day, or feel free to change it up. The point is this – by intentionally incorporating more confidence-boosting activities into your life, you will start to feel more confident.
It’s so simple, yet, as women, we get so caught up with our hectic schedules and taking care of other people, that we don’t take the time to intentionally do the things that will make us feel damn good.
As you start to use your Confidence Menu more regularly, you’ll notice a mindset shift. You’ll:
Feel more intrinsic power
Have more self-love and self-respect
Embody confidence more regularly
While we all have our doubts or limiting beliefs (psst- click here to learn 3 steps to overcome your limiting beliefs), it is VERY possible to be in a place of feeling confident most days. But, in order to do so, you must consistently choose confidence-building activities, and reject activities that steal your confidence.
